Since nearly all my work is based on works that are freely available to anyone, I also prefer to release all my work in the public domain so that no restrictions can be placed upon them.
This means that anyone can use them for any purpose (commercial, not-for-profit or otherwise), anywhere, without any worry of permission.
Some documents that I want to reproduce publically are still copyrighted, under current U.S. law. This includes some sections of the Doctrine and Covenants, and study guides that come with the LDS Scriptures.
When the time comes, I'll have to secure permission directly from the Church to reprint, reproduce, and redistribute works where they still hold the copyright. So far, they've proved very helpful, so I'm not too concerned.
